National Children’s Dental Health Month – Give Kids a Smile Day

Give Kids a Smile 2018 Campaign

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and we invite you to join us in raising awareness of the importance of oral health care for vulnerable children in Central Oregon. Our goal this year is to gather 1,000 toothbrushes appropriate for ages 5-18, 400 spools of floss and 100 travel size tubes of toothpaste so we can assemble oral care kits that are essential for nurturing healthy oral care habits. Given away at schools, in our clinic and at multiple community outreach events, each kit contains a toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. For many children, a toothbrush is a luxury; some have been using the same one for years and others have never had one at all.

Your contribution provides tooth tools for our community’s children in need and reinforces the importance of positive oral health habits. Tooth tool donations can be dropped off during the month of February at the following locations:

  • Westside Pharmacy/Bend
  • Rose’s Pharmacy/Bend
  • Central Oregon Community College/Bend (Health Careers Building 2nd floor, Allied Health Office)

To make a monetary donation in any amount, click here to donate online. To mail donations, make checks payable to Kemple Memorial Children’s Dental Clinic and send to:

Happy first day of spring! We’re kicking off the new season with a giant smile, thanks to COCC’s Dental Assisting Program. Their small but mighty group of students held a Smile Drive for us last month and gathered an amazing 30 POUNDS of toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss!!! We are so grateful to you for initiating this project and for helping us give kiddos in our community the tooth tools they need for happy, healthy smiles!
